Not a screenshot and not a mock-up — the page below was generated by the same engine that will run on your profile, from a demonstration brief.
Twenty templates,
four weeks of posts.
Every template is built on your palette and your type, so a stranger can tell two of your posts belong together. The plan tells you what to put in each one.
The templates
How to edit them
- Open any template in Canva: Upload → drag the SVG in. Text stays editable.
- Install the two fonts first — Lora and Source Sans 3, both free on Google Fonts — or Canva will substitute something else.
- Where a template shows a dashed box, that is a photo slot. Drop your own photo in and send it to the back.
- Do not change the footer position. The thing that makes a grid look designed is the bit that never moves.
The four-week plan
Write every caption to one person: people who read in the evening. Not to "everyone who likes handmade".
Say who you are
Nobody buys from an account with no face and no context. Week one is entirely about making the shop legible.
| Day | Template | What to write |
|---|---|---|
| Mon | 01 — Now open | Announce the shop. One line on what you make, one on why it is small batch, and where to buy. Do not apologise for the size of the range. |
| Wed | 12 — The maker | A photo of you, actually working. Caption: your name, where you make soy candles in reusable amber glass, and the specific moment you decided to sell it. Two sentences. |
| Fri | 04 — The material | Pick one material — soy wax, cotton wick, phthalate-free oils — and explain in three lines why you chose it over the cheaper option. Name the cheaper option. |
| Sun | 17 — Story: poll | Story only. Two options side by side, poll sticker. Colour, scent, size — something you genuinely have not decided. |
Show the making
Process is the only content you have that a reseller cannot fake. It is also the cheapest to shoot — you are already doing it.
| Day | Template | What to write |
|---|---|---|
| Mon | 05 — Process step | The least glamorous step in making soy candles in reusable amber glass. Caption how long it takes and why you have not found a way around it. |
| Wed | 09 — Behind the scenes | A wide shot of your actual workspace, mess included. Caption: one thing in the photo people always ask about. |
| Fri | 03 — Single product hero | Your best single photo of soy candles in reusable amber glass. Caption is three lines: what it is, what it is made of, what it costs. Price in the caption — hiding it loses sales. |
| Sun | 18 — Story: countdown | Story only. Set a countdown to your next drop or restock. Pick a real time and keep it. |
Make the ask
Weeks one and two earned the right. Now you can sell without it feeling like a cold pitch.
| Day | Template | What to write |
|---|---|---|
| Mon | 02 — New drop | The drop post. Lead with the photo, caption with what is available and how many. "Soy candles in reusable amber glass — twelve made" outperforms "now available". |
| Wed | 06 — Price & detail card | Everything a buyer needs before they commit: size, material, care, dispatch time. The post that stops the DMs. |
| Fri | 13 — Question card | Answer the question you get asked most. If you have not been asked anything yet, answer the one that stopped you buying handmade before you made it. |
| Sun | 19 — Story: link | Story only. Link sticker to the listing. Post it at the hour your audience is actually awake, not when you finish work. |
Prove it works
Real orders, real customers, real restocks. Evidence beats adjectives.
| Day | Template | What to write |
|---|---|---|
| Mon | 15 — Shipping day | Packed orders lined up. Caption: how many went out and roughly when they land. This is proof, not bragging. |
| Wed | 10 — Customer words | One real message from a buyer, screenshot or retyped, with permission. If you have none yet, skip this and repeat the process post — never invent one. |
| Fri | 07 — Restock | Restock or the next batch date. Say the number you made. If it sold out, say that instead using template 08. |
| Sun | 11 — Care guide | Three lines on keeping soy candles in reusable amber glass good. Saves you support messages and gives buyers a reason to keep the post. |
Cadence
Hashtags
Use 8–12, not 30. Mix three sizes so you are not invisible in the biggest tags.
Large — for reach
Middle — for relevance
Small — where you are actually findable
Replace the "small" row with your actual town and country. Tags under 50k posts are where a new account is actually findable.
Colour
Kiln Smoke
Fired clay and ash. Reads handmade without tipping into farmhouse.
Legibility
Contrast ratios against the background. Anything below 4.5:1 is only safe at large sizes.
| Pair | Ratio | Verdict |
|---|---|---|
| Ink on Base | 13.47:1 | Excellent |
| Quiet on Base | 3.32:1 | Large text only |
| Accent on Base | 4.21:1 | Large text only |
| Ink on Surface | 11.67:1 | Excellent |
